Biography of speaker: “Chinedu is an international development expert and result driven certified project, program and portfolio manager with over 15 years of consistent and proven delivery experience in leading enterprise-wide, complex and large-scale projects, programmes and portfolios. He has extensive experience in managing both bilateral and multilateral interventions and have delivered and maintained oversight on British Government’s suite of programs with a total budget of half a billion British Pounds in diverse sectors including Health, Education, Humanitarian, Water & Sanitation and Conflict Management, Stabilization, Peace Building and Governance.

 

Chinedu has participated as Panelist and Global Judge in several PMO and Project Management Awards including the PMO Global Awards 2023; PMI Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Global Project Management Excellence Awards 2022 and 2023. He is a PhD Candidate in Leadership and Strategic Studies and holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Leadership and Strategic Studies; MBA in Project Management; Masters in Development Studies and a BSc in Political Science. As part of building expertise in Project, Programme and Portfolio Management, Chinedu acquired Global Certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP); Programme Management Professional (PgMP); Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) with PMI; Project Management for Development Professional (PMD Pro 1 and 2 - Foundational and Practitioner Level) with APMG International amongst other certifications in similar areas.

 

As a valued member of the British High Commission in Nigeria staff member, Chinedu was nominated by the UK’s High Commissioner to Nigeria as delegate to welcome Their Majesties - King Charles and Queen Camila during his visit to Nigeria.“

 

Brief overview of the Webinar: Exploring Sustainability in Project Management through a Value for Money Lens”.

 

In a VUCA world, value optimization and getting ahead of the curve in business requires comprehensive framework for evaluating value for money in decision-making and taking the lead in adapting to the environment, society and economy. Projects therefore fail because the neglect these to important aspects pf Value for Money and Sustainability. This webinar therefore aims to explore sustainability and its broader aspects in project management in terms of long-term impact of a project on the environment, society, and economy as well as utilizing resources efficiently, minimizing waste, and ensuring that the project's benefits endure beyond its completion.

 

It will provide insight on how Value for Money (VfM) optimizes the balance between the project's costs and the benefits it delivers including maximizing the return on investment while minimizing unnecessary expenses. In addition, it will examine the 4 lenses of value for money (also referred to as the ‘4E’s of VfM) as defined by the United Kingdom which includes Economy, Efficiency, Effectiveness and Equity.

 

Finally, the webinar will expatiate on the nexus between value for money and sustainability in project management and the benefit of integrating sustainability into project, improving the project's reputation, and aligning it with broader organizational goals.
