Session 1: Topic : “Risk Management for Project Contracts”
Description:
Risk management in project contracts is a strategic process designed to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks that can impact the success of a project. This approach ensures that all parties involved in a contractual agreement understand, allocate, and address risks proactively to avoid disputes, delays, and cost overruns.
Contracts serve as a foundational framework for defining roles, responsibilities, deliverables, and terms between stakeholders. Integrating risk management into these agreements helps to anticipate challenges, establish clear risk-sharing mechanisms, and outline contingency plans. Common risks addressed include financial uncertainties, scope changes, legal liabilities, compliance issues, and unforeseen external factors such as market fluctuations or natural disasters.
